Week 10 #fatmanlifts

I took last week off entirely. No running, no lifting. Every time I worked out, my injury from two weeks ago would act up, and I'd basically spend the next two days hating life. I visited the doctor yesterday, and he basically said what I already knew: it's probably either a bruised or fractured rib, and there's not much to do but wait for it to heal (and try not to make it worse in the meantime).

But very explicitly didn't say 'don't go back to the gym'. And it's a good thing, because I've been going batty doing nothing. Like, can't-sleep, feel-like-crap, grumpy-for-no-reason batty. So it actually felt great to get back to the gym this morning and move around.

Never thought I'd see the day...

Still, I need to take it easy. I'll be adjusting my schedule until I heal up, dropping down to one maintenance session along with regular running. With any luck I'll be able to work back to full capacity in another month or so.
