Week 11, Day 3 #fatmanruns

I promised to mostly stop doing #fatmanruns updates, but the past two weeks have been difficult, and perhaps worth sharing. Maybe someone has advice?

For the first nine weeks of this whole thing, I was doing the Couch to 5K program, which was exactly what I needed. The gradual ramp-up really helped me become more comfortable with exercise at a pace that didn't frighten (or injure) me.

When I completed it on November 11, I was feeling mostly pretty good, and decided to continue running M/W/F, adding three three minutes to my run time every week. At the same time, I decided to begin strength training with a personal trainer T/Th. What I failed to take into account was how much more difficult running would be during my lift recovery days. I'm assuming the effects will be less noticeable over time (I am, after all, a complete beginner to weight lifting), but it's taken every ounce of willpower to get out the door and finish my run on Wednesdays and Fridays. My pace on those days is also pathetic.

But... sticking with it. I always feel better after, so that has to count for something... right?
